Westfield Style Tour

Garden State Plaza Mall, located in Paramus, NJ, was part of a 3 day event titled “WESTFIELD STYLE TOUR“.  From October 8th to the 10th shoppers were treated to fashion previews by Gap, Ed Hardy and Camille La Vie, beauty consultations by celebrity make up artist Terri Apanasewicz and couture cuisine by Grand Lux Cafe and Fabulous Foods.  Sponsored by TRESemme with Modelinia, where supermodels share their fashion, beauty and lifestyle secrets, the event included complimentary one-on-one style sessions with a renowned celebrity stylist. After filling out a short survey on a laptop computer guests were able to identify their style personality and were presented with simple strategies to build their wardrobe and confidence.

This event culminated with a runway fashion show on October 10th hosted by Tim Gunn (Liz Claiborne CCO & Project Runway Co-Host).  The clothes were casual and business wear looks from participating partners which included Lucky Brand Jeans (Retail Store & Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Macy’s), Juicy Couture (Retail Store And Neiman Marcus), Kate Spade (Retail Store & Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor), Mac & Jac (Nordstrom), Kensie (Lord & Taylor), Liz Claiborne New York (Macy’s), Dkny Jeans (Macy’s), Monet (Macy’s), Kensie (Macy’s) And Kensie Girl (Macy’s).  All these labels are subsidiaries of the LCI brand.

There were 37 looks presented with accessories.  The show opened with a black color blocked coat by Kate Spade.  During the show, Tim and his co-host provided commentary showing shoppers how to “make it work”.   There were day to evening transformations done on stage.  Some of my favorite looks were the frilly, feminine dresses from Juicy Couture, the sophisticated pencil skirts from Kate Spade and the chic bohemian looks from Lucky Brand.

Following the show there was a Q&A with Tim Gunn.  This quickly revealed all the Project Runway fans as most questions were about the contestants on season 6 currently airing on Lifetime TV.  When asked by a guest what style trend should be outlawed Tim was quick to reply “Crocs, I don’t get it“.

Next stop on the tour, San Diego, featuring Project Runway contestant Laura Bennett.
