Ever wanted to wear the designer dresses spotted on your favorite celebrities?  Good news fashionistas… Now you can.

Rent The Runway is a new service that allows you to wear a dress that would cost about $750 retail for about one tenth of the price. The New York Times in a recent article called Rent The Runway “the Netflix of Haute Couture“.

Founders Jennifer Hyman and Jenny Carter Fleiss recently launched the website to appeal to the masses. Following a free online membership you will have access to cocktail dresses and evening gowns from such esteemed designers as Proenza Schouler, Catherine Malandrino, Hervé Léger, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Badgley Mischka just to name a few. Rentals fees run from $50 to $200 for a four day loan. It is a simple as viewing the dresses online and having the dress of your choice in your size delivered right to your front door. Dresses can be viewed by Designer, Occasion, Style or Trend. Choices can also be filtered by rental fee and size.

After the dress is worn you simply place it in a pre-paid envelope and drop it in the mail. No need to dry clean as that is included in the rental fee.

Having a hard time choosing just one? No problem… Additional dresses can be added for a nominal rental fee of $25.00. They also have Stylists on hand to help fit you with the right look and feel for your body type and occasion.
