NINE, the movie, premiered this evening at Leicester Square in London. The lovely ladies walking the red carpet included Nicole Kidman, Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson and Judi Dench. Also making an appearance tonight was the star of the film Daniel Day-Lewis and Director Rob Marshall.
The movie started as a Broadway show in 1982 and won 5 Tony awards including Best Musical.
This film tells the story of a man, Guido Contini, played by Daniel Day-Lewis, who is a famous film director as he undergoes a monumental mid-life crisis and now is forced to deal with all the women in his life. The cast of women include his wife (Marion Cotillard), his mistress (Penelope Cruz), his film star muse (Nicole Kidman), his confidant and costume designer (Judi Dench), an American fashion journalist (Kate Hudson), the call girl from his youth (Fergie) and his mother (Sophia Loren).
The film opens in the US on December 25th, 2009.
