Supermodel NAOMI CAMPBELL has called upon fashion designers and celebrities alike to help bring FASHION FOR RELIEF™, a star-studded runway show, to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. This event will take place at Bryant Park (NYC) on February 12th at 7:00 pm. The show will be hosted by Sarah Ferguson, Duchess of York. She will be joined by model and activist Christy Turlington.
Naomi Campbell says, “I am deeply saddened by the recent tragedy in Haiti. So many have been killed and severely affected by the earthquake — women and children in particular are most vulnerable in disasters. Fashion is universal, personal and touches everyone. Our aim is to use this season’s catwalk shows in New York to reach people and help raise crucial funds to help save the lives of women and children.”
The show will be styled by Rachel Zoe, hair done by Orlando Pita, and make up by Charlotte Willer for Maybelline New York. Chopard will provide the jewelry. Items from the charity fashion show, which will feature a specially-designed Louis Vuitton handbag by Marc Jacobs, will then be auctioned off online starting on February 15th at NET-A-PORTER. 100% of the proceeds from the ticket sales and the auction will go to CARE, a charity rebuilding Haiti’s healthcare system for mother and children.
