Barneys NYC is gearing up for a mega trunk sale on April 21st at it’s Madison Ave flagship location. This one day event will take place on the Co-op floor from 2pm to 8pm. 10 fashion designers will introduce limited pieces from their Fall 2010 collections at a group trunk show called Trunk-A-Palooza. Alexander Wang, A.L.C., Richard Chai – LOVE, Wayne, Vena Cava, VPL, Helmut Lang, Shipley & Halmos, Rag & Bone and 3.1 Phillip Lim will all hold trunk shows simultaneously.
“The Co-op customer runs a little faster and dances to a different beat, so we are reinventing the trunk show concept for them,”
said Julie Gilhart, Barneys senior vice president and fashion director.
There will be personal appearances by Andrea Lieberman (ALC), Marcus Wainwright and David Neville (Rag & Bone), Sam Shipley and Jeff Halmos, Alexander Wang, Michael and Nicole Colovos (Helmut Lang), Richard Chai, Lisa Mayock (Vena Cava), Victoria Bartlett (VPL) and Wayne Lee starting at 5pm. They will be joined by DJ Beverly Bond.
This multi-designer epic event will unveil next season’s in-store stock. These items usually arrive in store sometime in the month of August. S&H silkscreened posters, Vena Cava mix CDs, specially printed tees by Wayne and medal pendants Rag & Bone used for its Spring 2010 show will also be available for purchase.
