Banana Republic, the retailer whose lifestyle collections are characterized by elevated design and luxurious fabrications at approachable prices, has announced the debut of the Trina Turk Collection.  This limited-edition capsule collection will be available for purchase in June 2012 and will be carried in all Banana Republic stores in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Italy, France, Japan, Turkey, and Korea as well as online in 24 countries.

Trina Turk considers herself lucky on two counts. First because she knew at a fairly young age what she wanted to do when she grew up – to design clothing professionally and second, because she is succeeding at doing it and has successfully evolved what began as a women’s contemporary clothing line into a mini lifestyle brand.  Inspired by the multicultural mix, architecture, and landscape of Los Angeles and California, The Trina Turk Collection is full of the Season’s most casually sophisticated – and “must have” silhouettes. Trina’s philosophy is to create wearable, optimistic fashion that incorporates the best aspects of classic American sportswear. The collection has become known for an amazing pant fit and gorgeous signature prints.

When we began working together on the collaboration, Simon and I decided early on that the Palm Springs ‘cocktails by the pool’ lifestyle would be our key inspiration for the colors, styles, and prints” says Turk. “I’m excited to offer this collection of colorful, covetable and unique pieces to Banana Republic customers for summer 2012.”

The nearly 60 piece collection is reflective of the signature Trina Turk bold and colorful beachside prints.  She will design a line of woman’s resort apparel and accessories with a modern California vibe which will include fun and flirty dresses, swimwear and plush beach towels.

The Banana Republic Trina Turk Collection will be featured in Banana Republic’s June advertising campaign, which will appear in select print, online, direct mail and in store.
