Tadashi Shoji Fall 2012

Tadashi Shoji presented his Fall 2012 collection on Thursday, February 9th at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.  The Fall/Winter collection hearkens back to the “Golden Age of Shanghai”, a glamorous world of modernity, transformation and prosperity that preluded a darker time.  Opulent fabrics of lace, chiffon, silk and velvet craft the silhouettes of drop waist dresses of floral prints, column gowns of embroidered lace and extended hemlines.

Brilliant colors of marina and seagrass were exemplified by neutral hues of ginseng and hazel.  A mecca of wealth and sophistication, the “Paris of the Orient” will forever be a fixture of Shanghai’s identity.

The models wore shoes by Joan & David, tights by HUE and accessories from Melinda Maria.

By featuring the utmost in luxury and elegance, the much-anticipated collection continues to elevate and hone the brand’s image in the marketplace. His designs have won a loyal following with well-dressed women worldwide, including a wide range of celebrities such as Helen Mirren, Queen Latifah, Katy Perry, Beyonce, Blake Lively, and Mo’Nique.

Tadashi Shoji is carried in more than 4,000 major department and specialty store doors worldwide, including Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Saks Fifth Avenue, and Bloomingdale’s. Internationally, the brand is available at high-end retailers such as Harvey Nichols, Bloomingdales, and Saks Dubai.

With the Academy Awards only 2 days away I wonder if we can expect to hear the name of Tadashi Shoji when asked “Who are you wearing?”  Let’s hope so.
