Lifetime will debut the all-new half hour fashion special, Project Runway Spotlight: Marchesa, on Thursday, December 20 at 10pm ET/PT (check local listings) following a new episode of Project Runway All Stars that evening.
This special provides a unique, behind-the-scenes look at Marchesa – the fashion house co-founded by designers Georgina Chapman, a judge on Project Runway All Stars, and Keren Craig – and worn by A-list stars on red carpets such as the Oscars®, Golden Globes®, and Emmys®. The documentary follows the label’s meteoric rise and gives an insider’s look at the fashion house as they create gowns for Hollywood starlets of all ages.
Marchesa is named after socialite Marchesa Luisa Casati. British born Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig met at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London. Georgina, a 2001 graduate of the Wimbledon School of Art, began her career as a costume designer. Keren graduated from Brighton Art College in 2000 and subsequently focused on print and embroidery design. Georgina’s draping and design paired with Keren’s textile creations resulted in the establishment of Marchesa in 2004.
Project Runway Spotlight: Marchesa also features interviews from fashion elite such as Vogue Editor-in Chief Anna Wintour and award-winning actresses Halle Berry and Eva Longoria.
In addition, the beautiful and talented Georgina Chapman just recently announced she is expecting. Maybe a line of maternity wear is in the works as she shops for trendy yet comfortable garments for her growing baby bump.
Marchesa is sold in high end department stores worldwide including Neiman Marcus, Bergdorf Goodman, Saks Fifth Avenue and Net-A-Porter in the US.
Be sure to tune in this Thursday night to the Lifetime Channel.
