Costume Institute Benefit 2013 red carpet arrivals to be live streamed

Met Gala 2013 live stream

Often donned the “Emmys of Fashion” The Costume Institute Gala will take place on Monday, May 6 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.  No invite? No problem.

The red carpet arrivals at The Metropolitan Museum of Art’s renowned Costume Institute Benefit will be live streamed on Monday, May 6, at 7:00 p.m. on the Moda Operandi, Vogue, Samsung, and Metropolitan Museum websites.  Hosted by Vogue’s William Norwich and model Hilary Rhoda, the broadcast will include interviews with the gala co-chairs including Rooney Mara, Lauren Santo Domingo, Riccardo Tisci, and Anna Wintour as well as celebrities from the worlds of fashion, film, society, sports, art, business, and music.  Special pre-taped segments will be shown on the history of the benefit and on this year’s corresponding exhibition Punk: Chaos to Couture.

The hosts will ask attending celebrities additional questions chosen from submissions via Facebook and Twitter (#MetQuestions) prior to the streaming.  Also, Norwich and Rhoda will give an inside perspective on preparing for the gala that day on the Celebs on Facebook page, www.facebook.com/celebs.  Follow Norwich on Facebook (www.facebook.com/william.norwich), and Like the Celebs on Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/celebs).  Follow them on Twitter and Instagram (@HilaryHRhoda and @williamnorwich).

The live stream will be available on www.metmuseum.org/metgala, along with information about the exhibition including images, video, and curator commentary.  ModaOperandi.comSamsung.com/GalaxyS4/Punk, and Vogue.com will also carry the live stream.  In addition, Vogue.com will feature the first look inside the benefit, as well as a video of the musical performance to debut on May 10.

The streaming of the event is a collaboration between The Metropolitan Museum of Art, Moda Operandi, Vogue, and Samsung.  The red carpet live stream is supported by Moda Operandi and Samsung, and produced by Vogue.

The 2013 exhibition Punk: Chaos to Couture will open to the general public on May 9 and run through August 14.  This year’s exhibit will examine punk’s impact on high fashion from the movement’s birth in the 1970s through its continuing influence today.

Moda Operandi is releasing an entire collection of “punk” inspired looks available to the public.  The collection includes looks from the great designers including Givenchy, Vivienne Westwood, Balmain, Rodarte and so many more.  Be sure to check these out online!!!!
