The MTV Video Music Awards were held on August 25, 2013 at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York for the first time. The fashion was anything goes. From Miley Cyrus in a black beaded crop top and leggings by Dolce & Gabbana, Lady Gaga in a black gothic Prabal Gurung custom made gown with a netted train to the ever so elegant navy blue gowns spotted on BFF’s Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift.
Let’s take a closer look at Who Wore What on the red carpet at the 2013 VMA’s:
From Left to Right: Country Crooner Taylor Swift stood elegant and looked very mature wearing a plunging Herve Leger by Max Azria gown. Her shoes are from Prada and she carried a Smythson of Bond Street clutch. The singer accessorized her look with Lorraine Schwartz earrings and bracelets and Ofira rings and bracelets. Next we have a stunning Ciara in a very sheer nude sequin and feathered gown by Givenchy Fall 2010 Couture. She changed her tresses from blond to a darker hue adding a touch a mystery to the total ensemble. Taylor’s new BFF and rising superstar Selena Gomez had just stepped off a plane and showed up looking sophisticated and channeling old hollywood glamour in a navy blue Atelier Fall 2013 Versace dress and heels with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. Looking at the side slit we are reminded of Angelina Jolie with her long leg. The 21 year old singer won Best Pop Video for her hit single “Come & Get It,”.
From Left to Right: Making a surprise appearance to join Macklemore on stage during their performance of the hit “Same Love” was Jennifer Hudson. Jen went with the trend of the moment in a black and white houndstooth Dior corset top and leather skirt, Christian Louboutin shoes accessorized with Lorraine Schwartz jewels. HBO Girl’s Actress Allison Williams, who we just saw as the guest judge on Project Runway, arrived wearing a white Valentino lace mini dress, Christian Louboutin shoes, and Paige Novick earrings. Rounding out the MTV VMA’s was Katy Perry who had filmed her performance during the week under the Brooklyn Bridge. Perry roared at us with her leopard animal-inspired turtleneck dress straight off the Emanuel Ungaro F/W 13 runway.
