TV and Film Awards season has begun. This week it started with the People’s Choice Awards. Then on Sunday, Jan 12 the 71st annual Golden Globe Awards, which honor the best in film and American television of 2013, was broadcast live from the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. The coverage started at 4pm ET and continued until 11pm. Our hosts for a second year were funny ladies Amy Poehler and Tina Fey and they did a fine job keeping us all entertained and smiling.
This year the red carpet was aplomb with voluminous gowns and million of dollars worth of jewels. Many couture designers had a strong showing especially Gucci, Dior, Armani, Valentino and Tom Ford.

The Golden Goddesses
Game of Thrones star Emilia Clark chose Proenza Schouler and Chanel jewels; Noami Watts gleamed in a Tom Ford gown with sheer cutouts on the bodice and a jeweled neckline; Downton Abbey star Michelle Dockery walked the red carpet wearing an Oscar De La Renta sequin dress with dazzling silver beading; House of Cards star Robin Wright shined in Reem Acra column gown as she accepted the award for Best Actress in a TV drama.

Jessica Chastain wore black Givenchy; Host Amy Poehler looked great in Stella McCartney and Charlotte Olympia heels; Looking amazing was Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive; Modern Family Star Sofia Vergara chose a Zac Posen gown, Brian Atwood heels and a chunky Lorraine Schwartz necklace.
Lady in Red
12 Years a Slave newcomer Lupita Nyong’o stood out in a red caped Ralph Lauren dress; Songstress Taylor Swift looked glamorous in a Carolina Herrera two-tone sleeveless gown with a dramatic draping train; Julia Louis-Dreyfus chose a Narcisco Rodriguez halter dress accessorized with Fred Leighton jewels; American Hustle star Amy Adams went with a color blocked Valentino low-cut gown with a long train and Brian Atwood shoes as she picked up the award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture (Comedy or Musical).
Blue Jasmine nominee Kate Beckinsale shined in a mermaid shaped gown by Zuhair Murad with silver beading; American Hustle star Jennifer Lawrence was white haute in Dior; Wolf of Wall Street actress Margot Robbie was hollywood glamour at it’s best wearing a plunging custom Gucci gown and Van Cleef & Arpels earrings; The Good Wife Julianna Margulies walked the carpet in a voluminous Andrew Gn gown.
Best in Accessory: Baby Bump
Drew Barrymore chose a floral print Monique Lhuillier gown; Olivia Wilde wore an emerald green sequined Gucci gown and a clutch designed by Emm Kuo; Kerry Washington who plays Olivia Pope in the hugely watched television drama Scandal was in custom Balenciaga.
