It is official – Reed Krakoff is joining creative forces with Kohl’s, with the debut of his limited-edition collection titled REED which is set to launch at Kohl’s stores and Kohls.com in Spring 2016.
Best known for his tenure as Creative Director at Coach Inc. and his three-time Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) awards, Krakoff is collaborating with Kohl’s for his first ever retail partnership launch that will include his designer apparel, footwear and handbags. Krakoff has influenced and designed more handbags than any designer around the globe so this collection will be in high demand. Previous notable designers that have created capsule collections for Kohl’s have included Thakoon, Milly and Elie Tahari.
Michelle Gass, Kohl’s chief merchandising and customer officer, states the REED collection has an “emphasis on craftsmanship and quality synonymous with Reed Krakoff” and feels the designs “will be highly sought after by women across the country” when it launches in mid-April. The collection also features several accessory pieces that will allow a woman to personalize and create her own unique look.
Or course, handbags are the focus of the REED collection, designed in Krakoff’s distinguished style, developed over 25 years as a leader in the industry. Additionally, though, the collection will feature American sportswear-inspired apparel, statement making stripes, geometric color-blocking, and playful prints. Unlike Krakoff’s previous signature collection whose price point was over $1,000 this collection is affordable with a price range of $15.00 to $129.00.
Krakoff touts “great design at an affordable value” is more relevant today than ever before, and adds “great style is about the unexpected, and Kohl’s is an amazing platform for this limited-edition collection.” Kohl’s is a leading department store spanning across 49 states with 1,166 locations, with a social commitment to inspire and empower families to lead fulfilled lives – we are positive that Krakoff’s 2016 collection for Kohl’s will do just that!
