Carolina Herrera presented her Spring 2013 collection to a packed house on Monday, Sept 10 at the Theatre located at Lincoln Center.
The Spring 2013 collection was all about lightness and fluidity. The movement and flow of soft fabrics are present throughout the collection such as chiffon, organza, twill, tulle and georgette. It is a flirtatious collection with a focus on the essentials and proportions including long fluid skirts and shorts. Very narrow shoulders and a slightly higher waist characterize the new silhouette. Tulle overlays and layered chiffons create softness. Romantic touches are combined with abstract prints. The color palette emphasizes the overall feeling of the collection with soft and subtle shades of pale blue, sea foam, glacier and some touches of orange and yellow.
There were the standard column shaped gowns that Carolina Herrera is known for and she added some more youthful looks for Spring with RTW flouncy dresses. Seated front row was Ivanka Trump and Julianne Hough, big fans of Carolina’s gowns. The highlight was when top model Karlie Kloss closed the show in an egyptian white dress.
