André Leon Talley, Vogue Editor-at-Large, and model turned blogger Hanneli Mustaparta will host a live webcast of Fashion Night Out: The Show.  On September 7th, 2010 at 7pm ET CBS.com will live stream the largest fashion show ever in New York City.  Presented by Macy’s and Maybelline New York, 150 top models will gather at Lincoln Center, the new home to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week S/S 2011, to showcase the best of Fall fashion trends.

“As CBS.com continues to be one of the top sites in the entertainment field, it will prove to be the perfect home for an event of this magnitude,” said Anthony Soohoo, SVP & GM of Entertainment & Lifestyle at CBS Interactive. “We are thrilled to be able to allow our millions of users a first look at fall’s hottest trends in addition to inspiring awareness of the much-needed economic stimulus that Fashion’s Night Out provides.”

Fashion Night Out is a global initiative taking place in over 15 countries.  In New York City FNO will take place on Friday, September 10, from 6 p.m. to 11 p.m.  More than 800 participating stores across the five boroughs will take part staging exciting, one-of-a-kind events in stores open after-hours to the public. Last year shoppers were able to see Sarah Jessica Parker singing standards with Oscar de la Renta, Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen tending bar, as well as Michael Kors, Justin Timberlake, Kate Hudson, Rihanna and Gwen Stefani (just to name a few) at various stores throughout NYC supporting the industry.  This year promises even better and bigger events.

CBS will follow their live webcast with a TV special that is set to air on Tuesday, September 14th from 10pm to 11pm ET.  The special will give viewers a chance to take a glimpse into the making of Fashion Night Out.  Cameras will follow celebrities, designers, editors and retailers as they prepare for one of the most anticipated events of the year, providing a unique view of the creative and logistical work that goes into coordinating an event of this magnitude.

On Sunday, August 29th, 2010 Jimmy Fallon hosted the Emmy Awards held at the Nokia Theatre in downtown Los Angeles.

They came out in style to dazzle and impress at the 62nd annual Primetime Emmy Awards.  There were long flowing trains as seen on Sarah Hyland of the highly-nominated comedy Modern Family.  Project Runway judge and supermodel Heidi Klum took a risk wearing a Marchesa mini dress.  Tina Fey stepped up her style game wearing a black lace Oscar de la Renta.

Some of my Best Dressed awards would go to Glee’s Dianna Agron in modern strapless lace gown from Carolina Herrera and Christian Louboutin heels with jewels from Cartier.  A style nod goes out to Kim Kardashian in a white Marchesa grecian style long gown.  Modern Family’s Sophia Vergara is also wearing a strapless Carolina Herrera saffron beaded gown with loose curls complimenting her look.  These ladies shined on the red carpet.

1. Glee’s Dianna Agron is perfect on the red carpet with a double ruffled strapless organza gown by Carolina Herrera. Christian Louboutin heels and over $1.5 million dollars of jewels from Cartier compliment the red carpet look.

2. Heidi Klum in a Marchesa mini dress. Christian Louboutin spiked pumps elongate her figure. The look is completed with a Lorraine Schwartz chunky necklace.

3. Nina Dobrev from The Vampire Diaries was stunning in a couture gown by Zuhair Murad.

On Friday, September 10th Fashion Night Out will return for a second time with over 1,000 retailers participating and scores of events taking place globally.  Whether you are an uptown socialite or a downtown gal who loves your boho chic look there are more events than ever to pick from.  From 6pm to 10pm New York City will be filled with DJ’s, celebrities, booze and loads of deals and steals at your favorite places to shop.

On August 8th, 2010 the teen hearthrobs of the year were honored for their work and their general “hotness” at the 2010 Teen Choice Awards. This year the award ceremony took place at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Universal City, California.  The show is set to air on FOX this evening at 8pm ET.  TEEN CHOICE 2010 celebrates the hottest teen icons in film, television, music, sports and fashion.

The show was hosted by Katy Perry and the and the Guys of GLEE – Chris Colfer, Kevin McHale, Cory Monteith and Mark Salling.

Bananas!!  I Die!!  The celebrity stylist to the stars, Rachel Zoe, is returning to Bravo TV for a third season of THE RACHEL ZOE PROJECT premiering on Tuesday, August 3rd at 11pm ET.

Rachel’s current celebrity client list includes Jennifer Garner, Kate Hudson, Kate Beckinsale, Debra Messing, Demi Moore, Joy Bryant, Molly Sims, Eva Mendes, and Anne Hathaway.

In addition to styling editorial and advertising campaigns using her unique flair for glamour, Zoe has penned a style book called Style A to Zoe: The Art of Fashion, Beauty, and Everything Glamour. She recently joined forces with QVC selling a line of affordable accessories and faux fur.

Fashion Night Out 2010 will be taking place for a second season on September 10th from 6pm to 11pm ET.  The biggest fashion extravaganza will span the globe and be filled with “stylish surprises”.  In NYC, Vogue will stage the largest fashion show open to the public featuring over 200 models and seating for 1500 spectators.

In preparation Vogue’s own Hamish Bowles, European Editor at Large, and Lauren Santo Domingo, Contributing Editor, will be making an appearance on two episodes of the CW11’s Gossip Girl set to air on September 20th.  Gossip Girl will begin the Fall season in Paris.

On July 15th, Bowles was spotted filming with actress Kelly Rutherford.  The two were photographed in the Meatpacking District outside of Diane Von Furstenburg’s studio.  The episodes will highlight the planning of Fashion Night Out 2010.

CBS will also be airing a special on the making of FNO.  This hour long prime time special is scheduled for September 14th at 10pm EST.

On Sunday, June 13th, 2010 the stars of Hollywood graced the stage at Radio City Music Hall for the 64th annual Tony Awards.  With A-List celebrities such as Scarlett Johannson, Denzel Washington, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, Naomi Watts, Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones being honored the red carpet sizzled in sequins and couture.

This evening starting at 8pm ET the MTV Movie Awards will air on the MTV channel.  The show will be hosted by Aziz Ansari in LA.

You can expect powerhouse performances on MTV Movie Awards night. It’s been three years since her last album dropped, and now Christina Aguilera is back, and will perform a song off her new, upcoming album “Bionic” (available June 8). Also taking the stage will be Katy Perry and Snoop Dogg to get you ready for summer with their new single, “California Gurls.” The beach-friendly pop song comes out in anticipation of Katy Perry’s second album release “Teenage Dream,” out August 24.

Sandra Bullock will make a return to TV tonight and we can expect to see the “Twilight” gang.   Jessica Biel and Zac Efron will also be appearing on the star studded red carpet.

The ladies of Sex and the City are back and they are sexier than ever! On Thursday, May 27th, Sex and the City 2 opened in theaters nationwide and abroad– and today, one day after the big opening, Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Kristin Davis, and Cynthia Nixon all sat down with the co-hosts of THE VIEW for a dose of girl talk like you’ve never seen before! This was the first time all of the stars were gathered on The View’s stage, and if you’re a fan of the cast, you’re surely a fan of their style.

This evening the cast of GLEE takes on the always flamboyant Lady Gaga as they belt out “Poker Face” and “Bad Romance“  But Glee is not only about the music tonight but also about the outrageous costumes.

Costume Designer Lou Eyrich took on quite the challenge to interpret Lady Gaga for a high school choir performance.  “I have great respect for Lady Gaga,” she said. “This episode is a tribute to her genius. The costumes are not replicas; we wanted it look like the kids made them.”

On this evening’s episode Lea Michele channels Kermit the Frog while Chris Colfer (Kurt) gives us late Alexander McQueen balancing on 10-inch ‘Armadillo’ platforms.

The Giorgio Armani Privé “orbit” dress that Lady Gaga wore to the 2010 Grammy Awards will be recreated for a pregnant Dianna Agron who plays Quinn.

Glee airs tonight at 9pm ET on Fox following American Idol.

You might know him as the king of “fierce” but apparently Season 4 Project Runway winner Christian Siriano is out to prove he is no one trick pony.  In a Bravo TV Special debuting on April 5th at 10pm ET/PT Christian Siriano will have his “moment”.  The one-hour special, Christian Siriano: Having A Moment, was taped in 2009 and shows his journey as prepares to show his Spring 2010 collection at NY Fashion Week.  This will be his third season showing his collections.

We see Christian and his staff as they go through model castings and fittings and in the middle of all the craziness actress Tori Spelling and husband Dean McDermott drop in for a fitting and hemline adjustment.  Short but never “slutty”.  His busy schedule also includes a meeting with Singer Estelle’s Stylist and a red carpet dress fitting with” 30 Rock” actress Katrina Bowden according to Bravo.

Since winning Project Runway Season 4 for his “fierce” designs this young fashion designer has gone on to create a shoe collection for Payless, designed a line of maternity wear called “Fierce Mamas” and even had his red carpet moment at the Golden Globe Awards when “Mad Men’s” Christina Hendricks wore a peach organza strapless ruffled gown adapted from his Spring 2010 collection.  His most recent project was showing his Fall 2010 collection at NY Fashion Week.

Apparently his fame has also changed his jargon with new phrases such as J’adore and genius both spoken with a certain dialect as to raise eyebrows.  His newest signature phrase du jour is “moment” or “having a moment” depending on how rushed he is.

Maybe his one-hour special will turn into a reality show.  For now we will have to settle on a moment of his time.

On March 7th, the 82nd Annual Academy Awards had us watching with anticipation to see all the red carpet fashion. What would they wear? What would be the trends that really made a fashion statement?

Your questions have been answered. There were three trends that truly stood out at the 2010 Oscars among the lovely nominees and presenters.

The first statement making trend was straight from the runways of Paris Fashion Week. METALLICS… Sandra Bullock, who won the coveted Best Actress in a leading role for “The Blind Side”, wore a gleaming column fitted gold metallic gown with exquisite embroidery by Marchesa. She looked like old Hollywood glamour. Kate Winslet, who won for Best Actress in a leading role in 2009, wore a simple strapless gold gown by Yves Saint Laurent with a yellow-diamond necklace from Tiffany & Co. Sarah Jessica Parker went with a quite controversial haute couture yellow Chanel gown with silver detailing. Not only was the gown itself in question but also her choice of Designer as she recently signed on as the President and Chief Creative Officer of Halston. The next “golden girl” was young Miley Cyrus who wore an empire waist strapless gold tone gown by Jenny Packham. The gold standard was set by Cameron Diaz who chose a sparkling gown with metallic ribbons and pailettes by Oscar de la Renta. She looked like the gold statue that stood tall at the entrance to the tented Oscar red carpet.

Another big trend on the red carpet this year was RUFFLES. The standout in this category who was ruffled from head to toe was Vera Farmiga who wore a magenta pleated strapless gown by Marchesa. Some thought it stunning and others felt the ruffles overpowered her and the dress was wearing her. Demi Moore, who was a presenter, looked flawless in an Atelier Versace tiered blush gown accessorized with Van Cleef & Arpels jewelry, Versace heels and Ferragamo clutch. Avatar star Zoe Saldana in purple and black Givenchy Haute Couture by Riccardo Tisci was surrounded by a sea of ruffles. Her amethyst and diamond jewelry was from Lorraine Schwartz. Elizabeth Banks also had a gray train of ruffles in a princess silhouette Versace with Fred Leighton diamonds.

The last trend I am going to mention at the 2010 Oscars was the pop of SPRING COLORS, lilac and hues of pink. Queen Latifah was queen of the carpet in a lilac satin Badgley Mischka jewel encrusted one shoulder gown with diagonal wrapped beading. Wearing a touch of spring was another over-the-top controversial sartorial choice, Charlize Theron. She is a stunning and talented actress who drew attention to herself in the wrong direction by wearing ruched rosettes as a bra. The Dior lilac gown may just win her the “booby” prize. We will have to wait for the Fashion Police for the final verdict on this one. Best Supporting Actress nominee Anna Kendricks wore a pale pink draped Elie Saab Haute Couture gown. The crystal Judith Leiber clutch she carried gave the dress a splash of glam.

“This red carpet was whimsical, thank God. It was the most interesting red carpet in a long time,” said Suze Yalof Schwartz, Glamour magazine’s executive fashion editor at large. “You want to see a dress that makes you say `Wow!’ and I saw at least six of those”.

She has done it once again, stopped traffic and co-hosts dead in their tracks as she exited the limo. LADY GAGA arrived at the Grammy Awards dressed in a custom Haute Couture Armani Privé spring/summer 2010 collection white translucent orb-like dress.

Armani was the master astronomer in Paris at his Couture runway show on January 26th, 2010. The aurora borealis crystal solar system was channeled into a real show stopper on the red carpet.

It has been quite a week of haute couture gracing the red carpet.  On January 17th, 2010 the actors and actresses braved the wet weather to walk the open red carpet and pose for the photographers at the Golden Globe Awards held at the Beverly Hilton.  It seemed that champagne gowns and ruffles were the common trend of the evening.  Designers gracing the red carpet included Marchesa, Narciso Rodriguez, Versace, Lanvin and Oscar de la Renta.  Some of the style stars who made a lasting impression and took home a “fashion globe” were Penelope Cruz, Kate Hudson, Julianna Margulies and Olivia Wilde.

A-List Hollywood returned back to the red carpet on January 23rd for the 16th annual Screen Actors Guild Awards.  On this night the red carpet was tented and E broadcasted the arrivals.  The ceremony then followed on TBS and TNT. Many of the same actors and actresses were nominated again after receiving a nod or win at the Golden Globes.

Atari has announced it will release a new PROJECT RUNWAY game for Wii. The videogame developed by Tornado Studios will hit store shelves and Amazon on March 2, 2010 retailing for $39.99.

This new fashion accessory will include your beloved Judges Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia and Michael Kors, Mentor Tim Gunn as well as the top eight contestants from season six including reigning Project Runway winner Irina Shabayeva.

As in the popular TV show players become aspiring fashion designers who are presented with a series of challenges to complete. The looks are presented on models with full hair, makeup and accessories. The designers use the Wii Balance Board™ as a runway to present their creations.

The game will also include some “extras” such as an interactive garment studio, a hair and make up studio, a catwalk game using the Wii Balance Board™ and a chance to go behind the lens as a fashion photographer participating in a hi-profile photo shoot.

The Weinstein Company, who are the executive producers of Project Runway, said in a statement “We are so thrilled about our new partnership with the Atari team and are especially pleased to present Project Runway fans with this new and exciting experience.”

On Sunday, January 17th, the 67th annual Golden Globe Awards took place at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. The red carpet was a sea of umbrellas as rain soaked the open red carpet arrivals. Sometimes it seemed as if umbrellas were the accessory du jour. It was an “aqua-net” type of evening on the west coast. There was also another accessory seen by many. Red ribbons were worn in support of those who lost their lives in Haiti and those who continue to suffer from this tragedy.

The style stars were out for a real star-studded couture carpet. Some stars were double nominated such as Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep. There were also some newcomers making their first appearance. Gabourey Sidbe, the star of Precious, was nominated for Best Actress Motion Picture Drama.

The fashion included champagne gowns, frilly ruffles, exquisite lace and embellished waistbands.  Here are some of the haute standouts working the red carpet.

She is outrageous, bold and original in her style and we are ga-ga over her. On Friday, January 15th Lady Gaga sat down with Oprah despite having just cancelled her concert due to exhaustion and dehydration.  Late last night Lady Gaga tweeted: “I hope you can forgive me. I love my little monsters more than anything, you are everything to me. I will make-up the performance on Jan 26.”

She talked about her Kermit the Frog moment, meeting the Queen in London and her over-the-top style statement at the 2009 VMA Awards.

My question:  Who styled your hair for this talk show appearance?

Jess Zaino is an emerging force in the world of fashion styling.  She is quickly becoming one of the most recognizable faces on the New York and LA fashion scene. This twenty-something year old co-hosts Style Network’s Modern Girls Guide to Life and is a regular contributor to Fashion Week coverage for E! Entertainment. Jess also has appearances on Style’s How Do I Look, The Look for Less, and Style Court.  In addition she was a contestant on the VH1 reality hit show Glam God with Vivica A. Fox.

I recently sat down with Jess to ask her some questions and see what it takes to break into the world of fashion and on-air styling. Here is what Jess had to say.

When did you first realize you were destined to work in fashion?

I was co-hosting a music television show in New York. I was making the tee-shirts and a lot of my wardrobe, too! When people starting responding to my designs and style, I naturally gravitated toward the industry.

Where did you go to school?

Hunter College on 68th and Lex in NYC. For film.

Any additional training?

For fashion, its the school of life for me!

Who did you intern with?

I jumped right into it as a stylist / designer for Kelly Osbourne

Who do you credit for “mentoring” you?

Style wise? It would have to be Finola Hughes, host of Style Network’s How Do I Look?

Who do you feel gave you your first “big break” that contributed to your success?

Kelly Osbourne.

What was your experience like being on the reality TV show GLAM GOD? Do you feel it helped in any way to advance your styling career? If so, how? Is this an experience you would recommend to other budding Stylists?

It helped my styling as it gave me tips and tricks I didn’t know about like using a maxi-pad to stuff a bra or make a hat fit more snug. While it was seemingly glamourous being on television with celebrities, it was very difficult both physically and mentally.

Where do you draw your inspiration from?

The past. I love films and photo books from previous decades. New York City is a big inspiration as is seeing someone else’s art which inspires me to go outside of the box like Lady Gaga.

Who/What is your muse?

My sister, Cailtin. She lives in Geneva, Switzerland and is the smartest, most stylish girl I know. She inspires me to push myself beyond my own limits and our brainstorming sessions are a big part of my art. Also, my boyfriend., Majed. He is seriously hot.

What magazines do you scour for inspiration?

Vanity Fair – the artists they use are incomparable and the stories are always right on trend and intellectually stimulating in an artistic way. Vogue. Old issues of Domino. The New York Times Sunday Style Mag. And of course, I check out the rags like Star Magazine to see who is wearing what on the red carpet.

What Winter 2010 trend are you loving most?

I love Menswear for women. And in no particular order – Lace stockings. Over the knee boots and Military-style Overcoats, Long Black Leather Gloves and Faux-Fur Earmuffs for Winter in New York.

What trend should be banned forever?

Uggs. Ug.

What is in your closet now that you can’t live without?

My Uniqlo Jeans. They are a perfect fit and fabric. I am a superfan of the brand.

Which Fashion Designers do you admire most?

The House of Lanvin, The House of Chanel, I love Shoshanna! And Moschino. A dash of classic with a ton of playfulness.

Which shoe / accessory Designer(s) do you love?

Christian Louboutin, of course! And Kate Spade for classic accessories.

What do you think of Rachel Zoe and her TV show?

I like to watch it when I can. You actually learn something. And while she may not seem “real” all of the time, she created her own life and that should be applauded.

What would you define as your “Signature Style/Look”?

For myself right now I am trying out a Barbarella-inspired punk look complete with skinny black jeans, Chuck Taylors and hoop earrings. Lots of sexy bed-head and swoopy eyeliner. On clients, I work to create a classic American foundation with a New York City edge.

How would you describe your personality type?

A LOT of people use the word ‘Spunky’ to describe me. I would say open and enthusiastic.

Which hi-profile clients have you most enjoyed working with?

Jennifer Tilly is a dream.

What has been your favorite “gig” so far?

I did a tour with Nordstrom where I traveled to their national stores and spoke to an audience of 200+ woman on the accessory trends of the season. It was an incredible experience and they are a class act brand.

What celebrity would win “BEST DRESSED” in 2009?

I am always obsessed with Kate Moss.

Who would you most like to dress?

Tina Fey.

Who would you most like to “lunch” with dead or alive?

Ben Franklin. He was a smarty-pants quirkster.

What is on your IPOD?

Lady Gaga for the gym.

What is on your TIVO/DVR?

Curb Your Enthusiasm. 30 Rock. The Golden Girls.

What are you working on now?

I am consulting with a new menswear line, KSINO(.com), I am writing a style book for the GenY audience, I am working on designing My Boyfriend Shirt(.com), I am writing beauty reviews at StyleCaster and I am doing designer re-sale of celebrity items at A-Red-Carpet-Life.com

Where do you see yourself in 10 years from now?

Overseeing the global brand – Jess Zaino Worldwide, Inc. And eventually moving into directing and producing culturally inspired films and projects

What would be the best advice you would offer to Stylists trying to break into the industry?

Get your materials together – a portfolio, website, etc. Know your signature style and what you’ll bring to each job that is different from the others. Keep up on trends that are emerging, look to the past for your own creations. Stay focused, persistent and open to success AND failure. Never give up!

6126, a contemporary line of leggings designed by Lindsay Lohan, is expanding into a full line of apparel set to launch in Fall of 2010 with 100 pieces.  By the Spring the line will grow to 150 pieces.

The collection will consist of contemporary tight mini-dresses, corsets, bustiers, vests, blazers and her signature leggings.  The newly released apparel will retail for about $100 to $150 on average.  Leather can run up up to $600.  Her current line of leggings have a price point around $70 – $120.  Retailers such as Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale’s, Macy’s, and Nordstrom are expected to carry the full line along with several other specialty boutiques.

Henri Levy, chief executive officer of DNAM Apparel, will manufacture the line.  They are also the manufacturers for Ed Hardy.

6126 is expected to grow into a lifestyle brand adding cosmetics, handbags, shoes, and jewelry in the year 2011.

Project Runway Season 7 Designers

Despite the fact that the winner of Project Runway Season 6, Irina Shabayeva, just shot her spread for Marie Claire Magazine, Lifetime TV has announced the new cast of Designers lined up to compete for the title of “America’s Next Top Designer” on Season 7 of PROJECT RUNWAY.

Set to air on Thursday, January 14, 2010 at 10 pm et/pt on Lifetime TV this season will showcase the talent of 8 females and 8 male designers who will live at the Atlas apartments in NYC and return to the workroom at Parsons.  Heidi Klum will host again along with mentor Tim Gunn.

The youngest designer, Jesus Estrada, is 21 years old and a freelance designer.  He lives in Mazatlan, Sinaloa, Mexico.  The most senior member is 47 year old Pamela Ptak.  Pamela is a full-time fashion designer & part-time college fashion design instructor from Pittsfield, Massachusetts.

Mercedes-Benz NY Fashion Week Fall 2010 Collections will be shown from February 11-18, 2010 at Bryant Park.  This is the final season showing at Bryant Park.  The Spring collections will move to Lincoln Center in September 2010.

Bravo TV welcomes it’s newest “Fashion and Style” reality TV show called LAUNCH MY LINE which will air at 11pm on Wed., December 2nd.

10 industry professionals who have dreamed of launching their own line of clothing will be paired with 10 established fashion designers who will help them in their journey. These industry professionals work in fields such as event planning, styling, music, choreography and corporate america.

The designers behind the brand DSQUARED2, twin brothers Dean and Dan Caten, will host the show.

The judges include Stefani Greenfield and Lisa Kline.

Each week these innovators will be placed in teams and must use their expertise to put together a complete look which will be sent down the runway. These looks will be judged by the 2 judges and by a live studio audience. In the end one professional will have his or her line LAUNCHED. The fashion designer who helped them along way, will receive $50,000.

And the Winner is…. IRINA SHABAYEVA!

On the Season 6 finale of Project Runway Irena’s all black cohesive collection inspired by the NY “Warrior Woman” was chosen by 4 judges to be the best. The judges included Heidi Klum, Nina Garcia, Michael Kors and guest judge Suzy Menkes (International Herald Tribune Critic).

Althea’s collection, which was inspired by Sci-Fi movies of the ’50s and ’60s, and had a futuristic feel never quite reached the future according to the judges. She was praised for her ability to translate the street into RTW fashion.

Carol Hannah, who credits gothic architecture and fairytales for her inspiration, was auf’d because the judges did not see the “thread” between the pieces in her collection.

Irina who lives in NY leaves with a cash prize of $100,000 to start her own line, an editorial in Marie Claire Magazine and an all-expense-paid trip for two to Paris.

Kalyn Hemphill of NY was the winning Model and also received a $25,000 cash prize from L’Oreal and a spread in Marie Claire Magazine.

THEY’RE BACK !!!  Kris Allen, Allison Iraheta and Adam Lambert (The Kradisons) gathered in NYC for a photo shoot which will be featured in the December issue of Elle Magazine. Joe Zee, Creative Director of Elle, wanted to play up their individual styles while taking them from reality TV stars to stadium superstars.

Adam (G)Lambert has always been about the heavy eye make-up and his use of accessories.  ”He’s got a classic uniform of nonconformity,” Zee continued about Lambert’s look. “But I wanted the finishing touches to make his look a look. Think dangerous: chainmail scarf, link-chain gloves, spiked boots.”  Just one day before the release of “For Your Entertainment,” Adam will perform the title track LIVE at the American Music Awards.

As for Kris, his “soulful” quality is portrayed by skinny ties, vests, white T’s and skinny pants.  He has a boyish charm and a laid back quality that can fill a stadium.  His self titled CD drops on November 17th. Kris co-wrote 9 of the 13 songs.

The only female rocker, Allison Iraheta, is the young, tough rocker chic type, a Courtney Love meets Grace Slick type.  Holding an acoustic guitar and rocking a one shoulder tight dress and leopard booties this 17 year old drops her first album, Just Like You, on December 1st.

Following on the heels of such shows as Glam God, The Rachel Zoe Project and Fashionista MTV has launched the next “I want to be a celebrity stylist when I grow up” TV show called Styl’D which premiered on Nov. 1st on MTV.

Five Junior Fashion Stylists have been selected to compete for a contract with the Margaret Maldonado Agency, one of North America’s most prominent agencies located in North Hollywood.  MMA represents some of the most sought after Wardrobe Stylists, Hair and Makeup Artists, Photographers and Fashion Designers.

Now let’s meet our cast of celebrity stylist wannabees in order of their current rankings:

1.  Tara –  The dark haired quirky one who works at Betsey Johnson in both the retail store and the LA showroom.  A 22 year old living in Orange County she is outspoken and idolizes Patti Smith, Courtney Love, and Axl Rose for their daring/dirty take on fashion.

2. Gary – Having studied fashion design at Parson’s and completed an internship at Men’s Vogue Gary has the knowledge to back up his innate sense of style.  Though often criticized for his “setiquette” by the senior stylists he has a vision and is focused on the task at hand.

3. Cody – Having a Mother who worked for Versace for 8 years among other fashion companies Cody was bred into the world of fashion.  He is the new kid on the block joining the cast in episode 2.  Despite his late arrival he is determined to show the senior stylists he is all work and here to win.

4.  Janna –  A student at Fashion Institute of Design and merchandising in Los Angeles she is the perky blonde valley girl who one day hopes to shop Rodeo Drive and leave her fashion moments at Forever 21 in the past.

5.  Brett - After accepting a styling gig for a musician following a photo shoot Brett was fired from the show.  He is now begging senior stylist Jen Rade to take him back.  With no formal training in styling this Kansas City  native makes ends meet working as a bartender.

Each week senior stylists Jen Rade, Julie Weiss and Eric Archibald take the junior stylists on a commercial or editorial shoot.  They hover and watch to see who has the qualities it takes to meet the physical and emotional challenges to be a superstar stylist.  The show is set to air eight episodes before the coveted contract is awarded but has already been moved out of primetime TV.

HBO Films brings the reality and history of the NY Garment District to cable television.

SCHMATTA (meaning “rags” in yiddish) is a documentary speaking to the rise and fall of the fashion industry.

The garment district in it’s 7 block radius is a microcosm of the world around us and our changing economic climate.  In 1965, 95% of american clothing was manufactured in the US.  Now that number has slipped to a mere 5%.  With the demands of labor unions it has simply become more cost effective for even seasoned designers to outsource the work to other countries.  Unlike the auto or finance industry the garment industry has not been handed a government bailout.  The only handout of recent has been pink slips.  In an industry that once gave immigrants a bright future and hope it is now an industry hanging by a thread.

As Fashion Week draws to a close in NY and Europe and our eyes were glued to the eye candy that walked the runways on beautiful models does anyone take the time to stop and think about all that went on to produce that 20 minute extravaganza of bright lights and musical accompaniment?   This film tells shows the plight of the workers, labor organizers, designers, fashion execs and manufacturers who built their careers in the Fashion District of New York.

Director Marc Levin says ““before we were making cars we were getting dressed.”

Now might be a good time to take a hard look at the label in what you are wearing right now…  Is it manufactured in the USA or overseas?

This Thursday, October 15th, the remaining Project Runway contestants will face their biggest challenge to date.  Design an outfit for Grammy Winner CHRISTINA AGUILERA !!   What will Christina think of their work?

Also sitting in as a guest judge will be the iconic costume designer, BOB MACKIE.  Mackie’s reputation was built dressing the most glamorous and charismatic women in the world. For years, his designs have graced the most famous stars in the entertainment industry and now his sportswear and dress collections are being enjoyed by everyone. His close attention to detail, as embodied in the design, choice of fabric, and use of color and opulent embellishment, is legendary in the world of fashion. When a woman chooses a “Mackie,” she dares to be noticed!

Brad has “Bradittude” ??!!  What about Taylor.??  Does she not seem to be so “over it”??  I am amazed at the way she speaks to both Rachel and Brad.  They seem to be one small dysfunctional family.  It is also a bit odd to watch something where you already know the ending to the story.  Did we not already know what Anne Hathaway would be wearing on the red carpet and changing into for her dance number with Hugh Jackman at the Oscars??  It is reality TV based on the past.  Is that really reality TV ??
