Rebecca Taylor Spring 2012

The Spring 2012 muse is contemporary, fresh, and ethereal. The collection emphasizes cut and color with unexpected cut-outs in silhouettes. Shades of oyster are highlighted by bold citrus colors of lemon, lime and tangerine. Cropped slouchy embellished sweaters, long skirts and voluminous outerwear in technical fabrics add edge while apron back dresses mixed with bone-colored snake leather bibs inject a pared-down cool attitude, which sets the tone for the Spring 2012 collection.” — Rebecca Taylor, designer

On Friday, September 9th Rebecca Taylor debuted her Spring 2012 collection at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.  The show opened with an alabaster snake leather and shades of moonlight silk pieced dress. Asymmetrical dresses in a palette of pale muted tones of grays and citron had an ethereal feel.  The collection was easy wearable pieces that could be mixed and matched in a variety of ways.  The nude pailette top pictured in the top photo was shown in three different ways giving each one it’s own stand alone look and feel.  In the theme of fresh she showed a cobalt shibori tie front apron dress and a skirt pictured above that looked like white billowing clouds painted on a blue sky backdrop.  Gunmetal pieces were interjected into the collection throwing a bit of a harder edge into the mix.  The accessories (belts, shoes and handbags) were also designed by Rebecca Taylor.
