As a true fashion pioneer and innovator, Norma Kamali presented her Spring 2012 collection in a most unique way at the David Rubenstein Theater on September 14th.  Instead of having models walk down the runway Kamali and her team presented an eight minute 3D fashion film.  Guests were provided with a pair of anaglyphic 3D glasses and watched the presentation on a large screen while the models played around on the floor in front of the screen along with the designer.

67 looks were showcased in the film on a 42″ wide screen.  Norma Kamali also used this opportunity to launch her 3D video shopping experience, the web’s first 3D shopping pages.

NORMAKAMALI3D.COM was made available to guests using 17 laptop computers set up in the front of the venue. To add to the fun a 3D fashion game was also available.

Norma has been a retailer since 1967 and is transitioning retail innovation.  She provided shopping by merely scanning bar codes in her window displays.  She recently replaced mannequins with eight foot glamazon cutouts of models wearing her latest collections.  She has set up a “Try Before You Buy” service and is providing a full service shopping experience to her clients using Skype.

3D glasses can be ordered on the web site for the full 3D experience.  For now sit back and enjoy this fashion film brought to you in 3D by Norma Kamali.
