Target has recently announced it’s next big designer collaboration. For Spring 2016, Target will be visiting the bright bold prints designed by Marimekko. The Finnish design house, which is headquartered in Helsinki, will design a limited-edition print-centric collection that includes apparel for woman and girls including swimwear, fashion accessories, outdoor décor, entertaining essentials and furniture. There will even be a black and white paddleboard for all surfer chicks.
“When it comes to our partnerships, we travel far and wide to find designers and brands we think our guests will love,” says Julie Guggemos, Senior Vice President, Product Design and Development, Target. “For our spring collaboration, that brought us all the way to Finland! We’ve had our eye on Marimekko for quite some time, and can’t wait for guests to have a chance to shop this limited-edition collection in just a few short weeks.”
Summers in Finland means the sun stays out until midnight giving the locals lots of time to soak in the rays in a playful atmosphere. The idea behind this collaboration is to celebrate the Finnish lifestyle and give birth to these spirited cheerful colors that can be mixed and matched. The collection will have over 200 pieces to pick from.

We are thrilled to share our storied colorful designs and lifestyle thinking, inspired by Finnish summer living outdoors, with Target’s guests in almost 1,800 stores and online across the United States.”
Some standout items include the paddle board, inflatables, hammocks and swimsuits. The collection also features a number of firsts for Marimekko, including the bocce ball sets and parachutes. Prices range from $7.99 for sunscreen to $499.99 for the paddle board. Most items however will be under $50.
