Grammy Awards 2012 red carpet fashion: What they wore

The show must go on.  Despite the tragic passing of Whitney Houston and the damper put on the spirit of the night the Grammy Awards still thrilled audiences and went forward at the Staples Auditorium in LA on Sunday, February 12th.

The red carpet arrivals was a mixed bag of couture glamour and outlandish costumes that made everyone tweet at a rapid pace.

Here is the fashion breakdown of Who Wore What:

(From Left to Right) Carrie Underwood arrived in a long sleeved cut out back Gomez-Gracia tulle “Starlet” gown;  Corinne Bailey Rae earned points for her Christian Siriano black frock with spike high platforms;  Katy Perry went blue in Elie Saab Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2012 gown with matching blue hair, Christian Louboutin heels and wearing Norman Silverman jewels worth $2 million; Rihanna worked with Armani to design her low cut plunging neckline tight fitted slit gown, Christian Louboutin shoes, Clutch by Jimmy Choo and jewelry from Neil Lane.

(From Left to Right) Adele returned to perform after her throat surgery looking great in custom Giorgio Armani black gown and a Harry Winston 12.4 carat diamond micropave ring;  Kelly Rowland walked the red carpet wearing an Alberta Ferretti gown;  Julianne Hough who is dating Ryan Seacrest posed in Kaufman Franco; Country Superstar Taylor Swift looked so mature having chosen a beaded gown by Zuhair Murad, Shoes by Prada, and jewels by Neil Lane.
